For ease of network wiring, a cable pull box is employed, whereas the cable comes in multiple colors for easy identification. If networking from i.e. a server room to another office, the end in the server room would be terminated to a patch panel. At this point we label the other end of the wire creating organization. A short patch cable can be plugged from the desired port on the patch panel to the closely located hub or switch. A wall socket, called a drop, is where the other end of the wire will be terminated.
